Artilium is an AIM listed company that develops advanced software solutions and applications for mobile network operators.

Mobile network operators generate and store enormous amounts of data about their subscribers, such as call detail records, customer relationship data, service usage and mobile phone location data. These records are often discarded or stored for specific purposes such as billing. There has been a growing awareness in the telecommunications industry that there is more value hidden in this data that could be used for improving the customer intelligence and efficiency of delivering services.

Offering subscribers services that are not relevant is at best inefficient but can also can also lead to customer dissatisfaction and increase the likelihood that the subscriber will change their service provider. Whereas, the delivery of relevant and compelling content is the key to improve mobile network subscribers’ satisfaction, ensure better usage of services and increase the uptake of revenue generating value added services. Matching the right services to the right consumers will also attract better quality content and will lower the operational costs.

The aim of the project is to develop capabilities of processing telecommunications data in order to determine the profile and current context of each of the subscribers and therefore be able to target them with relevant and compelling service offerings. A suite of algorithms will be developed involving the application of data mining, machine learning, pattern recognition and semantic web techniques. The resulting algorithms will ultimately be used by Artilium in future releases of its service delivery platform products designed for the mobile operators.
